LeFlore County Father & Son Arrested After Bar Fight | News
A LeFlore County father and son were arrested on assault and battery charges after a stabbing at Jimmy’s Bar in Panama Saturday night.
Jeffrey Douglas, Sr., 51, and Jeffrey Douglas, Jr., 20, both of Bokoshe, were booked into the LeFlore County Detention Center.
Douglas, Sr. posted a $5,000 bond Monday, according to a jail deputy. His son is being held on a $75,000 bond for an assault with a deadly weapon charge.
The stabbing took place around at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, according to a county dispatcher. There were about 80 people there at the time of the stabbings, according to eyewitnesses.
Eyewitnesses say a cook-out benefit was being held at the bar for Judy Lindsay who suffered a stroke last year and needed help paying medical bills.
Eyewitnesses say one of the victims was Lindsay’s brother-in-law who was stabbed in the chest, ear, and neck. He was taken by helicopter from the baseball field from behind the bar to a hospital in Oklahoma City. All of his vitals organs were missed and underwent surgery Saturday night. He is now in stable condition.
The second victim was a family friend of Lindsay who was stabbed in the back and taken to a hospital in Poteau and was released Saturday night.
The third victim is Lindsay’s husband who was slashed by a knife in the face, he received eight stitches and was released from a Poteau hospital Saturday night.
The three responding agencies were Panama Police, Le Flore County Sheriff’s Office and Shady Point Police.
