Australian Aerospace Company to Expand in Oklahoma

Australian company Ferra Engineering is expected to employ 20 workers at a new site in Grove, Okla.

Governor Mary Fallin joined Mark Sherrer, CEO of Ferra Engineering at the Le Bourget Paris Airshow to announce the company’s expansion plans.

“Ferra chose to expand to Oklahoma because its central location enables us to easily provide service to our customer base on both coasts and international markets,” said Sherrer. “Oklahoma’s competitive cost structure, business friendly environment and strong existing aerospace supply chain made it a natural choice.”

Even more country legends and Oklahoma natives are coming together to support victims of recent deadly tornadoes.

Toby Keith’s Oklahoma Twister Relief Concert, featuring Garth Brooks, Willie Nelson, Trisha Yearwood and Ronnie Dunn will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 6 inside the Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman, Okla. Gates open at 1:30 p.m.

Tickets are $25 each and will go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Friday, June 21.

Heavener Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident

A Heavener, Okla., man is dead after a motorcycle accident in LeFlore County Wednesday evening (June 12).

The accident occurred just after 5 p.m. six miles south of Hodgen on US 59, according to a fatality report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Rickey Ford, 56, of Heavener, died after the 2007 Yamaha motorcycle he was riding was hit by a Chevy pickup driven by 21-yearold Colton Gregerson of Geary, Okla.

The family of a man who drowned at Skiatook Lake is begging Oklahomans to learn from their grief.

Jeffrey Clegg, 32, died after illegally jumping from some bluffs, and it’s something lake patrol has been struggling with for years.

Clegg’s aunt and uncle say he was a fun-loving thrill seeker, and that may have cost him his life.

Patient Killed in Medical Helicopter Crash

A patient onboard a medical helicopter died when it crashed shortly after takeoff from the Choctaw Nation Health Center in Talihina Tuesday (June 11).

Authorities have identified the patient as Michael David Wilson, 49, of Bethel, Okla. The man’s body has been sent to the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s office, John Hobbs, Executive Director of Public Safety for the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, said Wednesday evening.

'Run to Remember' Honors Tornado Victim Saturday, June 8

Dustin Bridges, 32, of Wilburton, Oklahoma lost his life in El Reno when an EF-5 tornado swept through the area May 31.

Despite the devastation felt by the entire community of Wilburton since the loss of Bridges, efforts to provide relief to his family have been unfailing and inspirational.

Saturday, June 8th at 7 a.m. residents of Latimer County and surrounding areas will crowd the streets of Red Oak  to pay tribute to Bridges and offer support to his family through participation in a benefit run in his honor.
